  • The restoration, enhancement, and creation of more than 63,000 Texas wetland acres.
  • Statewide distribution of wheat seed totaling over 9,000 acres annually.
  • Production and partial writing of wildlife habitat handbooks to train 3,000 vocational agriculture teachers and 4-H leaders in Texas.
  • Host annual wildlife habitat competition for high school students within Texas.
  • Continued commitment of scholarships presently totaling more than $16,000 for young scientific professionals to solve present and future Texas wetland problems.
  • Provided funds for the construction and placement of more than 15,000 wood duck boxes in 147 Texas counties.
  • Coordinated or provided immediate response to outbreaks of avian cholera and duck plague in cooperation with state and federal resource agencies, international conservation organizations, and private landowners.
  • Provided funds and outdoor education programs for Texas youth such as the Boy Scouts of America, Future Farmers of America and disadvantaged youth in our major cities.
  • Served as voting member of the North American Waterfowl Management Board which provides oversight and direction for the North American Waterfowl Management Plan.
  • Developed innovative techniques from remote sensing platforms for the evaluation of Texas wetlands.
  • Coordinated and completed wetland mitigation and enhancement projects for international energy and waste disposal companies in Texas.
  • Recognized by the American Fisheries Society for outstanding performance in restoring and enhancing Texas wetlands.
  • Recognized by the Texas Chapter of the Wildlife Society as the initial recipient of the GROUP ACHIEVEMENT AWARD for activities to promote, reclaim and enhance wetland habitat in Texas.
  • Provide funds and technical expertise for 80 wetland projects on private and public lands to enhance, create and restore ecological production within 45 counties of Texas.
  • Provided freshwater inflows to Lake Charlette, a 1,500-acre wetland within the Trinity Bay ecosystem, for the reduction of saltwater intrusion and enhancement of wildlife and fisheries habitat.
  • Created 100 acres of wetlands at the Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge.
  • Preserved 5,000 acres of freshwater marsh and created a 148,000 pound goose grit site at the McFaddin National Wildlife Refuge.
  • Created wintering goose habitat at the Hagermann National Wildlife Refuge.
  • Provided technical and field expertise for wetland development at the Alazan Bayou Wildlife Management Area for Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
  • Provided telemetry and global positioning equipment to Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s waterfowl program to locate major wintering goose populations.
  • Funded equipment acquisition for Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s waterfowl biologist to manipulate moist soil areas along the mid-coast of Texas.
  • Funded mobile pumping apparatus for Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s waterfowl program to increase wetland acreage upon private and public lands.
  • Provided funds and manpower to revegetate over 300 wetland acres upon the L.B. Johnson and Caddo National Grasslands for the United States Forest Service.
  • Provided manpower and equipment to erect 270 wood duck boxes for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineer’s Cooper Lake project.
  • Funded over 500 acres of wetland habitat restoration and enhancement at the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge.
  • Raised over ten million dollars in individual, corporate and foundation contributions for Texas wetlands.
